90 • Ozzie Ba Ru 2007 Chardonnay, Hunter Valley $17.95.  Organically Grown Grapes
Deep, bright golden-straw hue. Toasty French vanilla aromas have a prominent oak character. A ripe entry leads a rich, full-bodied palate with bright acidity. Creamy finish. Drink now. (tasted on Aug-15-2009)
90 • Lynfred 2008 Sauvignon Blanc, American $20.
Straw green color. Peach, dried banana, nougat and lemon grass aromas follow through on a round entry to a dryish medium body with good depth, balance and nice sweet melon and citrus notes on the lively fade. Try with papaya salad. (tasted on Sep-08-2009)
90 • Glenora 2008 Dry Riesling, Finger Lakes $17.99.
Pale straw hue. Elegant talc and lanolin nose. A crisp entry leads a zesty, medium-bodied palate with sharp acidity. Drying, flavorful finish. Will develop over the next three- to five-years. (tasted on Aug-15-2009)
90 • Alexandria Nicole 2008 "Shephards Mark" Destiny Ridge Vineyards , Horse Heaven Hills $20.
Aromas of peach granita, spring mountain flowers, and almond oil follow through on a round, slightly racy entry to a dryish medium body with ruby grapefruit and kiwi notes. Finishes with a tangy apple phosphate and peppered honeydew fade. (tasted on Aug-31-2009)
90 • Chockstone 2008 Riesling, Grampians $18.
Yellow-straw hue with a greenish cast. Exciting, forceful petrolly nose shows good varietal purity. A lean entry leads a medium-bodied palate with sharp acidity. Taut and bracing in style with great structure and depth of flavor. Will develop over the next five years. (tasted on Aug-15-2009)
90 • Alexandria Nicole 2008 Destiny Ridge, Late Harvest Riesling, Horse Heaven Hills $16.
Pale straw hue with a slight spritz. Piercing, steely stone-fruit nose. A sharp entry leads a zesty, medium-bodied palate with modest sweetness and very firm acidity. Tightly wound and firmly structured. Good with fruit based desserts, but would benefit from a couple years of aging. A very solid wine. (tasted on Aug-15-2009)
89 • Braganini 2008 Reserve, Sauvignon Blanc, Lake Michigan Shore $18.99.
Golden straw color. Bright aromas of honeyed green peppers, herbs, and white grapefruit bespeak classic sauvignon blanc and follow on a round, soft entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with nice depth and gentle acidity. Finishes with a lovely mineral kissed finish. A dead ringer for a fine, florid Sancerre. (tasted on Aug-03-2009)
89 • Desert Wind 2006 Desert Wind Vineyard, Bare Naked Chardonnay, Wahluke Slope, Columbia Valley $18.
Brilliant yellow-straw hue. Fresh melon aromas have an attractive leesy accent. A crisp entry leads a generous, full-bodied palate with pure, bright fruit flavors. Rounded, lengthy, flavorful finish. Tasty, balanced, and elegant. (tasted on Aug-15-2009)
89 • Red Zeppelin Winery 2007 Riesling, Santa Lucia Highlands $17.
Bright yellow-straw hue. Pure, steely, minerally stone fruit nose. A ripe entry leads a drying, moderately full-bodied palate with lean acidity and petrolly complexities. Has good depth of flavor. Drinking well now. (tasted on Aug-15-2009)
88 • Glenora 2008 Riesling, Finger Lakes $15.99.
Bright straw hue with a greenish cast. Sweet citrus aromas have a honeyed overtone. A crisp entry leads a medium-bodied palate with modest sweetness and generous fruit flavors. Zesty acidity makes for a clean finish. Drink now. (tasted on Aug-15-2009)
