86 • Bordeleau NV Apple Wine, Maryland $11/500 ml. Best Buy.
Pale straw silver color. Aromas of citrus spritzed apples and hay are hard cider-like with silky, fruity sweet light-to-medium body and a honeyed green apple, peach pit, and earth finish. A pleasant, earthy lighter-style apple wine that will be good as an aperitif, in a cocktail, or with mild cheeses and pastries. (tasted on Jul-01-2013)
83 • Baldwin NV Raspberry Wine $20/375 ml.|Find-a-Wine|
Deep garnet color. Aromas of raspberry compote, dried lime, thyme, and lavender suggest detergent with a glycerous sweet medium body and a honey raspberry syrup, twigs, and herbal Spic-N-Span like finish. Herbal and citrus notes hold this back. (tasted on Jul-01-2013)
