91 • Daniel Gehrs 2006 "Fireside" Port, Amador County $36.
Shy dusty berry and custard aromas. Rich dry berry and raisin flavor with a touch of melted chocolate and peppery spice. Excellent smoothness and integration of flavors with a charred nut, toffee and earthy finish. (tasted on Dec-05-2008)
90 • Pedroncelli 2004 "Four Grapes" Vintage Port, Dry Creek Valley $18/500 ml. Cellar Selection.
Deep garnet. Dusty berry, cocoa, and spice. Smooth and supple with a solid "four grapes" character. Pencil shaving, dried currant, dark nuts, and spice on the finish. Very reminiscent of a true Oporto and built to age. (tasted on Dec-05-2008)

Deep garnet color. Berry custard, cream, graphite, cocoa, roasted nuts aromas and flavors with smooth fruity medium-full body with a supple tannin fade. Tasty and ageable. (tasted on Dec-05-2008)

Deep garnet. Dried berries, pencil shaving, and lavender aromas and flavors with bright acidity, cinnamon bark, clove, lipstick, potpourri, and chewy tannins. Dusty charred cedar and berry skin fade. A touch overpowering. (tasted on Dec-05-2008)

Leather, cocoa, nuts and raisins aromas with a touch of saddle soap and spice follows through on a supple entry to a sweet medium body. Peppery spice and dried apple finish with heavy tannins. (tasted on Dec-05-2008)

Berry custard, pink peppercorn, sour cream frosting. Slightly phenolic with tree bark, berry seeds and cherry pit notes. Tart and tangy fade. (tasted on Dec-05-2008)
