91 • Pessagno 2005 Hames Valley Vineyard, Vintage Port, Hames Valley $36.
Deep amethyst color. Polished aromas of blackberry pie and creme brulee follows through on a very soft and satiny entry to a fruity, moderately sweet medium-full body with great depth and warming peppery spice and mineral notes on the fine tannin finish. Very nicely structured and spicy. (tasted on Dec-05-2009)

Opaque garnet amethyst color. Baked blackberry,raisin and plum aromas follow through on silky entry to a fruity, moderately sweet medium-to-full body with great depth and a spicy, nut skin and slate accented fade with firm, powdery tannins. Nicely structured for creamy and blue cheeses. (tasted on Dec-05-2009)

Opaque amethyst color. Aromas of plum, cocoa, and clay follow through on a silky entry to a supple fruity sweet medium-to-full body with tangy blackberry skin notes and a crisp, chewy, powdery tannin fade. (tasted on Dec-05-2009)

Aromas of baked raisins, oiled leather, dusty nutshells, and pomegranate molasses follow through on a round, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body with hints of cocoa and berry vinaigrette. Finishes with a terse, papery nutskin and hot pepper accented fade. Tired and over the hill. (tasted on Jan-07-2010)
