87 • Mendoza Station 2008 Reserva, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza $5.99/1.5L.
Deep ruby color. Aromas of dried currants and waxy chocolate covered raisins follow through on a juicy entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with tang fruit and a balanced easy going finish. A very nice sipper or pair with buffalo burgers or mild Indian food. (tasted on Apr-15-2009)
84 • Graffigna 2006 Centenario, Cabernet Sauvignon, San Juan $12.99.
Granola cereal, dark chocolate, dried currant and marsh reed aromas follow through on a supple entry to a dryish medium-to-full body with cranberry and apple tobacco notes. Finishes with a firm, chewy, powdery tannin fade. (tasted on Apr-15-2009)
84 • Graffigna 2005 Grand Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon, San Juan $19.99.
Deep ruby color. Aromas of currant, cracked coconut, and roasted yellow pepper follow through on a soft, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with tart cranberry skin and salted nuts notes. Finishes with a brisk, powdery tannin fade. (tasted on Apr-15-2009)
