Garnet violet color. Aromas of dried blueberries and choke cherries, cocoa, spiced nuts, and clay follow though on a bright, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with great depth, smoothness and balance. Long, creamy chocolate and tropical citrus finish. A great, hedonistic, and seamlessly balanced zin for every occasion. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)
93 • Alexander Valley Vineyards 2007 "Redemption Zin", Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley $25.
Deep garnet violet color. Classic aromas of mashed raisins, dried raspberries, and cracked pepper follow through on a supple, plush entry to a fruity medium-full body with great depth, mouthwatering acidity and a high-wire balance of alcohol. Finishes with a long, pure, craisin and plum skin cascade. A delicious, textbook example of Dry Creek zinfandel. (tasted on May-10-2010)

Deep garnet black color. Aromas of dried currants, pickled peppers, coconut, and tilled earth follow through on a satiny entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body with excellent savory complexity and depth. Long, tangy chocolate covered pomegranate, mint, and earthy tannin finish. An opulent claret styled zin that will work well at the table. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)

Dark garnet black color. Aromas of melted chocolate, balsamic peppered strawberries, delicate herbs and paprika follow through on a supple entry to a fruity full body with lots of vanilla, raisin, apple sauce and peppery spices on the chewy tannin finish. A big, fruit-driven zin with lots of flavor for zinheads. (tasted on May-10-2010)

Aromas of black raspberries, honey ice cream, and clay follow through on a supple, juicy entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium body with very good depth and balance. Finishes with a long, spicy, jammy soft tannin fade. A tasty crowd pleaser; serve with deep dish pizza. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)

Aromas of strawberry-blueberry custard, banana taffy, rose hips, and pickled tomatoes follow through on a supple, round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with very good depth and fine balance. Finishes with a long, enveloping dusty tannin fade. Nice interplay between ripe fruit, candy, and savory notes with make this shine at the table; try with aged gouda burgers. (tasted on May-10-2010)

Crispy bacon, coffee gelato, and chocolate covered cherry aromas follow through on a silky entry to a fruity medium-to-full body with lots of jammy berry fruit and a smooth, zesty cocoa-dusted citrus finish. Very tasty with a charming meaty complexity. Pair with pasta alla carbonara or sausage pizza. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)

Dense aromas of dried berries, prunes, tilled earth, and subtle soy follow though on a satiny entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with good depth and a raisin puree and pepper accented finish. A brawny, earthy, old school styled California zin. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)

Rich chocolate covered cherry and berry aromas have a nice mocha accent and follow through on a supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body with pomegranate, pepper, and vanilla notes. Finishes with firm, chewy, wood pulp-like tannins. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)

Aromas of mesquite, singed herbs, and dried lingonberries follow through on a buoyant entry to a tangy, smoky medium body with tar-like minerality and a zesty citrus pith accented finish. A bit smoky for zinfandel, but interesting; try with grilled game. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)

Deep garnet violet color. Dense aromas of stewed berries, honeycomb, and dried lavender follow through on a round entry to a dryish medium-to-full body with tangy craisin and pink peppercorn notes. Finishes earth and firm, pithy, cottony tannins. Give this some time for the tannins to resolve and fruit to shine through. (tasted on Apr-19-2010)
