93 • Magnotta 2007 Limited Edition Riesling Ice Wine, Niagara Peninsula $30.98/375 ml.
Golden yellow color. Aromas of peach raisin compote baked in wax paper follow through on a round entry to a fruity sweet medium-to-full body with rose petal and sweet spicy pear sauce notes. Finishes with a dash of lychee fruit salad and brown spices. Interestingly floral and lively; pair with vanilla gelato and pound cake. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)

Beautiful deep golden amber color. Bright aromas of dried apricots and honey follow through on a silky entry to a fruity sweet medium-to-full with rich golden raisin, candy apple, and mineral notes and a long sumptuous finish. A delicious and highly drinkable ice wine. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)

Pale scarlet gray color. Baked strawberry chutney, caramel, and raw honey aromas follow through on a round, supple entry to sweet medium-to-full body with great depth and purity. Finishes with a strawberry creme brulee and dark raisin fade. Delicious. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)

Bright golden amber color. Aromas of golden raisin bread and custard follow through on a round, supple entry to a fruity sweet medium-full body with a touch of fuel-like minerality and spice. Finishes with a lingering flint and apricot jam fade. Nice. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)
87 • Paradise Ranch 2007 Vidal Icewine, Niagara Peninsula $45/375 ml.
Old gold color. Pleasant aromas of baked pear, golden raisin, and honey follow through on a thick, lightly syrupy entry to a fruity sweet medium-to-full body with hints of orange marmalade and praline. Finishes with a twang of pewter-like minerality. Nice. (tasted on Mar-05-2009)

Pale amber color with a yellow cast. Waxy honeycomb, yellow prune, and poached apple aromas follow through on a smooth creamy entry to a fruity sweet medium-to-full body with praline, yellow raisin and limestone notes. Finishes with a crisp, spiced apple, orange, and honey fade. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)

Aromas of dried apricots, fresh baked baklava, and golden raisin puree are pure and powerful and follow through on a thick syrupy entry to a moderately sweet medium body with orange blossom honey and spicy tapioca notes. Finishes with a vibrant golden raisin and poached apple fade. Very nice. (tasted on Mar-18-2009)

Tawny copper red color. Aromas old custard, twigs, and singed cranberries follow through on an thick entry to a sour and sweet medium body with worn leather sole and tar pit notes. Finishes with a brisk, cloying honeyed berry fade. Out of balance. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)
