93 • Laphroaig Quarter Cask Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky $45.99.
Brilliant amber color. Rich aromas and flavors of iodine, singed praline, floral honey and cake with a supple, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a long, smoky ember, grass and dried meat driven finish. A brawny yet refined Islay that makes a delightful evening sipper. (tasted on May-28-2013)
92 • Laphroaig Triple Wood Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky $69.99.
Bright amber color. Layered aromas and flavors of cigar ash, honeyed roasted nuts and grains, fruity pepper jelly and iodine with a supple, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a lingering peppery, smoky peat moss accented finish. A must for cigars. (tasted on May-28-2013)
91 • Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky $55.
Bright old gold color. Delicate aromas of honeyed raisin scone, dried peaches, and medicinal tinctures have a hint of cedar and mesquite-like smokiness follow through on a soft, smooth entry to a dryish medium body with good depth and a lingering, cream and cereal and subtly complex and earthy smoked wood, leather, and prairie grass driven finish. A very nice young and smoky dram. (tasted on May-12-2010)
91 • Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky $59.99.
Rich amber color. Deliciously rich and quite elegant for a barrel strength whisky. (tasted on May-28-2013)
89 • Laphroaig 10 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky $45.99.
Rich golden amber color. Smoky peaty aromas suggest iodine, melted Band-Aid, grilled fruits, and grainy cereal with a silky dry-yet-fruity medium body and butter fruit pasty and delicate spice on the smoky, ashy finish. Solid. (tasted on May-24-2012)
88 • Kilchoman "Machir Bay" Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky $54.99.
Light golden yellow color.
