92 • Jazz Cellars 2008 "Rhapsody", Marsanne-Roussanne Blend, Saralee's Vineyard, Russian River Valley $33.
Toasty baked pineapple, dried yellow rose, and coconut aromas follow through on a round entry to a rich, fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body with very good intensity and a crisp, mossy stone accented finish. A very deft use of oak keeps this interesting and table friendly. (tasted on May-24-2010)
91 • Brian Carter Cellars 2007 "Byzance", Columbia Valley $30.
Deep garnet color. Great combination of red fruits, tomato, meat, licorice, and sweet baking spices on the nose and full-bodied, multilayered palate. Long, stately, earth and spice finish. Impressive! (tasted on May-24-2010)
89 • Davis Family 2008 Cuveé Luke, Sierra Foothills $26.
Pale golden color. Shy aromas of talc, lime powder and dried mango follow through on a soft entry to a dryish medium body with a streak of melon rind, apple core, dried herbs and peppery alcohol. (tasted on May-24-2010)
89 • Calcareous Vineyards 2008 Viognier-Marsanne, Paso Robles $28.
Golden yellow color. Toasty coconut and Meyer lemon aromas follow through on a soft, round entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body with good depth and a tangy candied lime peel note. Concludes with a long, crisp delicate herb and peppery spice finish. Nice intensity and style. (tasted on May-24-2010)
88 • Robert Hall Winery 2007 Rhone de Robles, Central Coast $19.99.  Sustainability in Practice Certified
Garnet with a violet rim. Aromas of spicy plum, creamy mocha and waxy apple follow through on a soft, silky entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium with lively weight and depth. Finishes with a blackberry skin, orange and melon rind, and dusty pencil shaving accented fade. A very nice table wine. (tasted on May-24-2010)
