90 • Maryhill 2007 Sangiovese, Columbia Valley $14.99. Best Buy.
Deep ruby color. Aromas of dark chocolate, pot roast with carrots, onions, and peppers and dried berries follow through on a supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with very good depth, tangy acidity and a toasty, fine tannin finish. Nice savory complexity and food friendliness. (tasted on May-10-2010)
90 • Ledson 2007 Reserve, Sangiovese, Knights Valley $44. Cellar Selection.
Cherry pie and pencil shaving aromas and flavors on a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full bodied palate with excellent depth and intensity. Finishes with a long, spice, herbed tomatoes, and delicate earth accented fade. Serious depth and structure here; try with Tuscan steaks now or give it a few years in the cellar for more rewards. (tasted on May-10-2010)

Rich aromas of chocolate, goji berry, tomato, mint, and herbs follow through on a round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with good depth and a pleasant creamy vanilla note. Finishes with juicy, chewy tannins. Very nice; pair with lasagna. (tasted on May-10-2010)
88 • Viansa 2005 "Thalia", Sangiovese, Sonoma Valley $45.
Boysenberry jam, cherry tobacco and chocolate aromas follow through on a juicy entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body with very good depth and vibrancy. Finishes with a long, dried berry, spice, and chewy tannin flourish. Very tasty. (tasted on May-10-2010)
87 • Pend d'Oreille 2006 Kestrel Vineyard, Sangiovese, Yakima Valley $28.
Deep ruby color. Intriguing aromas of pomegranate seed, white chocolate mint, turmeric, and delicate cardamom follow through on a silky entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium body with tangy depth and a pink and green peppercorn accented finish with powdery tannins. Curious; try with biryani. (tasted on May-10-2010)
87 • Alazar Winery 2008 Sangiovese, Sonoma County $14.99. Best Buy.
Blueberry, tomato and herb aromas have nice purity and follow through on a supple entry to a dryish, savory medium-to-full body with a firm, char roasted pepper and powdery tannin finish. Try with fajitas or pate. (tasted on May-10-2010)
