90 • Tinhorn Creek 2006 Merlot, Okanagan Valley $18.99.
Ruby black color. Aromas of plum pie a la mode and baking spices follow through on a round, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with toasty cedar and apple skin and green peppercorn notes. Finishes with a tangy, lingering vanilla accented fade. Great purity and balance. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)
89 • Magnotta 2005 Gran Riserva, Merlot, Ontario $21.73.

Finishes with a zesty, lively powdery tannin fade. Interesting; serve with spicy Asian beef and curry dishes. (tasted on Mar-17-2009)
