93 • Dr. Konstantin Frank 2008 Gewürztraminer, Finger Lakes $17.99.  Sustainable Agriculture
Pale golden color with a silvery cast. Lovely aromas of spiced green apples and peaches follow through on a silky entry to a fruity-yet-dry light-to-medium body with superb depth and balance. Finishes with a long lemon and mineral kissed finish. Fantastically clean and understated, yet flavorful. (tasted on Aug-04-2009)
89 • Ludwig 2008 Single Vineyard Selection, Dry Gewurztraminer, Monterey $15. Best Buy.
Pale golden straw color. Bold aromas of yellow rose and lychee follow through on a supple, round entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body with banana taffy and bubblegum spice notes. Finishes with a soft, florid, tropical fruit cocktail fade. An attractive, very feminine crowd pleasing sipper; or serve with cold melon soup. (tasted on Jul-20-2009)
88 • New Gewurz 2008 Gewurztraminer, Mendocino County $12. Best Buy.
Pale golden straw color. Floral lychee and apricot aromas follow through on a crisp entry to a dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body with tart green apple skin and wet mineral notes on the piquant, refreshing finish. A lovely summer sipper, or pair with grilled fruit laden salads and Pad Thai. (tasted on Aug-04-2009)
84 • Treleaven 2008 Gewurztraminer, Finger Lakes $19.99.
Pale golden yellow color. Aromas of peaches in cream and white flower aromas have a smoldering beeswax candle edge and follow through on crisp entry to a fruity-yet-dry light-to-medium body with tart lemon rind and green apple core acidity. Finishes with puckering, rather tannic, chalky fade. Laser-like acidity make this a great choice for spicy grilled fish with papaya-mango relish. (tasted on Jul-20-2009)
84 • Sakonnet 2007 Estate Grown, Gewurztraminer, Southeastern New England $18.95.
Pale silvery straw color. Aromas of green apples, beeswax, and pear have a delicate spicy edge and follow through on a soft entry to a dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body with a touch of nut oil and minerals on the crisp finish. (tasted on Aug-04-2009)
83 • Silver Lake 2008 Roza Hills Vineyard, Gewurztraminer, Rattlesnake Hills $9.99.
Pale golden silver color. Aromas of honeycomb, rice candy and green nectarines follow through on a brisk entry to a dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body with starfruit and wax paper notes. Finishes with a brisk, balsa and talc accented fade. (tasted on Aug-04-2009)
