Prpduced is a legal term used by the U.S. governing authority, T.T.F., to define the moment when fermenting grape "juice" becomes "wine" legally. Historically, "made," "vinted," "cellared," "perfected" and other similar terms were not as legally restrictive as "produced." when stated on a wine label.
