Aromas of oak library shelves, figs and dates, salted caramel, and suede with a fat body and a very long spiced plum, figs, and dates, delicate and salty peat smoke, berry compote on short bread, and tobacco and leather finish. A soap opera in a glass, equal parts high drama and mouthwatering satisfaction; an endearing and top notch Islay malt with fabulous integration and balance.

Islay is an island off the west coast. Traditional Islay malt whiskies are intensely smoky and pungent in character with a distinctive iodine or medicinal tang that is said to come from sea salt permeating the local peat that is used to dry the barley malt.
